Frequently Asked Questions
Product Questions
I already have a closet full of reusable shopping bags. Why should I get another one?
On your journey to sustainability, many of you accumulated free or inexpensive reusable shopping bags. When you're shopping with them, it's likely a challenge to organize them because they weren't designed with that functionality in mind. Which means you probably don't love carrying them. Enter Bringit bags. Our bags are thoughtfully designed to work together as a system, making it easy for you to remember your bags, and to keep them all organized. So when it's time to hit the market, you just grab your Bringit shopping system and off you go!. LOVE.
How do I best store my produce?
It depends. Some types of produce (lettuce, spinach, celery, carrots, asparagus, mushrooms, and broccoli, for example), need moisture to reduce wilting. For these, best to lightly spray with water, shake off the excess, and place them back in the bag. Use our breathable mesh produce bags to allow airflow for apples, tomatoes, oranges, bell peppers, onions, potatoes, and garlic. Veggies like onions, potatoes, avocados, tomatoes, and squash can be stored on the counter in the bags or in a bowl.
Sometimes I’ll arrive at the market, only to discover that I’ve forgotten my grocery bags. Any tips on helping me remember?
The BRINGiT shopping system is designed to be your best friend when it comes to helping you remember your bags when you shop. After unpacking your groceries, place the now empty produce bags right back into the pockets of the ITTote. If they need to be cleaned, simply rinse with water, air dry and place them back in the pockets. Then leave your ITTote by the door or return it to your car.
How much fits in each bag, and how strong are they?
The weave of the material has inherent stretching properties that allow each bag to hold more than one might imagine and then return back to its original size. To give you an idea of each bag’s capacity, picture this: The iTBag Shopper holds the contents of a small grocery shopping trip. Our Mesh Produce Bags and Large Produce Bags hold approximately 15 apples each; our Small Produce Bags hold two pounds of almonds each.
Can your bags handle wet groceries?
Our woven produce bags absorb excess water, so they’re perfect for keeping moisture-loving produce (here’s looking at you, kale and carrots!) fresh and crisp, extending their shelf life.
How do I wash my bags?
Just pop them in your washing machine (up to 100F) and hang or lay flat to dry. For the iTTote, be sure to remove the base insert prior to washing.
